We’re Recruiting for a New Prior and Chair to the Board
The opportunity
In accordance with our governance rules, our current Prior and Chair to the Board of Trustees has entered his final year of appointment, his second triennium ending on the 24th of June 2023.
This presents an exciting and prestigious opportunity for a suitable person to join us in governing the charity. Given the seniority of the role, applicants must be able to demonstrate the highest level of interest in fully supporting the charity, their willingness to be strong advocates for the charity and their ability to steer the charity towards achieving its strategic priorities.
Who we are
St John Ambulance Cymru (SJAC) is an independent Priory within the Order of St John and is Wales’ leading first aid charity. Supporting people and communities across Wales, we existed before the NHS in Wales and provided the earliest medical support to those who were sick or injured.
St John - Worldwide
St John is a major international charity which provides first aid, health care and support services in over 40 countries around the world. Together they make up the Order of St John, an Order of Chivalry of the British Crown with His Majesty the King as its Sovereign Head, which is accredited to the United Nations.
Interested applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the highest level of ethical leadership, with a track record of operating at a senior (executive) level. Ideally candidates will have experience of working within a charity Board, and be able to show commitment to the charity’s aims and objectives.
